Alexandra Dapolito Dunn

Alexandra Dapolito Dunn serves as Executive Director and General Counsel of the Association of Clean Water Administrators. She has 19 years of experience in environmental law and policy. For the past 12 years, she has worked extensively on water quality, water treatment, and implementation of the Clean Water Act. She is a published author, and speaks regularly, on water policy, sustainability, and environmental justice. She is a Lecturer in Law at the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America (DC) (Advanced Topics in Environmental Law) and advisor to the Environmental Law Society. Dunn is a member of the bar in DC, MD, and NY, the U.S. Supreme Court, and federal courts.

 

Dunn is the immediate past Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources. Dunn serves on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute. She also serves as Secretary of the non-profit U.S. Water Alliance.

 

From 2007 to 2010, Dunn served as Dean of Environmental Law Programs at Pace Law School (NY), where the environmental curriculum is ranked among the top nationally. As Adjunct Professor of Law, Dunn taught seminars in Environmental Justice, and in Human Rights and the Environment. Before Pace, Dunn was General Counsel of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (DC), Counsel to the American Chemistry Council (VA), and an environmental attorney at Winston & Strawn (DC). She has represented parties, intervenors, or amicus curiae in over 25 environmental cases.

 

She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, at the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America (DC), where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. She earned her B.A., cum laude, in Political Science and French, James Madison University, VA.
